I’m an undergraduate in the UK, studying English. And I try to write about one book (or more) each week. These aren’t just reviews, or explanations of ‘why-I-think-you-should-read-this’, because you can’t really judge a book objectively.
Also, early in 2010, I got vocally extremely passionate about feminism, so that crops up a lot too. And in late 2010, as I started to feel more comfortable with how I self-defined, I’ve also got more vocal about LGBT rights as well. So enjoy.
Books are more than just the words and the paper, as any slightly bookish person will tell you. So this blog is about that. What effect the books I’m reading have had on me, for instance if they’ve changed the way I see the world, or more generally why I like them, or maybe (if I’ve not read anything…) a story about someone else’s booklife…
I love this idea. I read a book a week anyway, so I love it that you’ve taken it upon yourself to blog about your literary journeys.
Thank you – the problem is that I keep getting distracted by non-book-related issues!
I’m glad you and my sister have encountered one another, shine – I’ve read your blog for a while and were sure you’d like each others’ blogs! Xx
